Marg Would Much Rather Have the Fans Than the Awards

We have three new CSI-related video in the video vault. The first one contains comments on the much talked-about opening scene of Season 10 from the cast members and the producers. The second one has behind-the-scenes footages of scenes from the Season 10 episodes Family Affair, Appendicitement and Better Off Dead. The last video has bits of an interview with Marg. Even if you don’t care for the technical stuff, you still will love the interview.

When asked about doing the opening scene, Marg said her part was rather easy compared with the other cast members’. She just had to freeze her expression, but It took a few tries to figure out what kind of expression they wanted. “And [it] seemed like the wider my mouth was, the more they liked it. It was cool. It was amazing how it turned out.” Commenting on the success of CSI, she said that she felt fortunate and that she thought she’d “hit the jackpot at the right time.” Between the fans and the awards, Marg would, without a doubt, pick the fans. “I’d much rather have the fans. Much rather. And I think most people would,” she said. “Awards are certainly nice to receive, and it’s nice to be acknowledged by your peers, but in the end, it’s always about the fans.” She also talked about playing Catherine for ten years. “It’s magical. I still get a big kick out of it. I don’t really foresee that my enthusiasm really weaning…”

Marg also talked about the show’s impact and inspiration to television and to people, especially young people, about show runner Carol Mendelsohn’s effort and other topics. She described her costar Jorja Fox, who returned to the show after a two-year leave as a “cool chick. Exceptionally cool.”

Marg Dishes On Working With Rascal Flatts

Rascal Flatts’ guest appearance on CSI generated quite some buzzes. Apart from all the videos we have seen, ET and CMT Insider also published news stories on the topic. Both articles quoted Marg. This is from the ET report:

“I always like working with musicians, especially country musicians,” Marg Helgenberger told ET. “I think these guys have been a joy to work with. They’ve been just cool and fun and funny…so it’s a mutual admiration society going on here.”

CBS has uploaded a behind-the-scenes video of tomorrow’s new CSI episode Unshockable. In this 2:48 video, you can see scenes from the episode and bits of interviews with Marg, George and members of guest-starring country band Rascal Flatts. In the latest Mega Buzz from TV Guide, Adam reveals something related to Catherine and her new love interest that we’ll get to see in the upcoming CSI episode, The Panty Sniffer. Don’t read if you’re spoiler-free. :)

What’s the latest word on a love interest for Catherine on CSI? — Sid

ADAM: Well, the latest words are “The Panty Sniffer.” Before your filthy minds get ahead of you, that’s the title of an upcoming episode that features Catherine & Co. assisting the police during a stakeout to bust the Southwest’s biggest Ecstasy pushers. “Catherine will spend a good part of the episode in a hotel room with Detective Vartann (Alex Carter),” executive producer Carol Mendelsohn tells us. “We’ve already established a little flirtation between them in a prior episode, and although it’s not very CSI, yes, there is a kiss.” Happy?

The Starlight Children’s Foundation is having an auction on a beautiful turquoise B. Makowsky bag on ebay right now. What makes this bag different is it’s signed by Marg on the inside. Here is an excerpt of the item description:

Marg Helgenberger took a moment from solving crimes on CSI to sign a beautiful B. Makowsky purse from the Lites Collection. Marg is best known for her roles as Catherine Willows in the CBS drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and as K.C. Koloski in the ABC drama China Beach, which earned her the 1990 Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Jorja Fox Reveals Catherine Willows’ Surprise

Last week, the 10th season of CSI premiered in Asia on AXN Asia. MSN Malaysia published an interview with the returning cast member Jorja Fox about her view on the return and her character Sara Sidle. When she was asked whether there are any surprises that fans can expect in the new season, Jorja revealed a little about something that’s going to happen to Catherine. It isn’t a spoiler for the US and Canadian fans, but just in case you haven’t seen it…spoiler warning!

Q: After 10 seasons, CSI has shown the fans almost everything, are there any surprises left and what can the fans expect?

A: Yes there are many surprises. We haven’t done so many stories on characters and there is more possibility of further venturing into that like Catherine is finally going to get a love interest. (Laughs) She’s been waiting a long time for this. As for stories, sadly there would not be a shortage of stories of crime and violence in America. It’s a sad fact actually but it is really good for our show.

A real site update. At last! But before we start with the updates, here’s some news: Marg is up for most glamorous female TV star in this year’s Monte Carlo TV Festival.
