Marg is turning 51 on November 16th 2009. And Margamania is turning 5 on the same day. To celebrate Marg’s birthday and our anniversary, we bring you…(drumrolls)…Margamania Birthday Project 2009.

The project includes two parts, and it doesn’t require any special skills to join. Here are the details:

The first part is a page called Dear Marg… where you can leave your messages for Marg. You can post about what she means to you, wish her a happy birthday…whatever you like. If you prefer talking over writing, you can also send us a video or link to it in your message. Go leave your message now!

The second part of our project is a fundraiser. Before you go “Oh no. Don’t ask for money from me”, though, we ask you to keep reading because at the end, you’ll realize that every dollar you donate is worth it, and by donating, you get yourself a chance to receive something fantastic —actually, a little something from Marg— in return.

Marg’s mother Kay is now a 28-year breast cancer survivor and we know that Marg has honored her over the years with contributions to charity. So now, we’re asking you, the wonderful Marg fans, to donate a little something for the cause. The funds we raise will be donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation. Margamania will also add the amount we have pledged to the Tweets for Boobs campaign by the end of October to the funds. When the money is collected, Susan G. Komen will send a card to Marg notifying her of our donation. We will also post the acknowledgement or certificate for our donation from the foundation when we receive it.

As our thank-you to people who support the fundraiser, we will be having a giveaway contest with goodies we’re sure you’ll love after the fundraiser ends. For more information about the contest, please go here.

All you need to do is click the Paypal button below and make your donation. It doesn’t matter how much you donate. Even just one dollar helps make a difference.

Both parts of our project will run until Friday, November 27th 2009. Every Marg fan is welcome and encouraged to join us.
