Thanks to YOU, our first rundraiser ever made a success. The figures have been calculated, the prize winners have been contacted, and the prizes will be mailed on Monday, December 7th. Hopefully their new owners will receive them before Christmas. A lot of you must really want to know how much we have raised. Well, thanks for your support and trust, we will be donating $500 to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure foundation to honor Marg. Not bad for a first time, we think. :)
We really appreciate everyone’s help with the Birthday Project. It is for sure that we’ll organize more projects in the future. And we hope you will continue supporting us. ♥
The More magazine website posted a list with the subject Stars Who Started on Soaps in August. Of course, being one of the biggiest television stars, Marg got listed with a pretty photo of her as Siobhan from Ryan’s Hope (click thumbnail to enlarge). Here is what More said about Marg on that matter:
That is what Marg says about her late Momo, the loyal, beloved friend to her, Alan and Hugh. In our previous post on Rescue Tails: Portraits of Dogs and Their Celebrities, we showed you one of the Marg/Momo photos included in the book and quoted Marg’s note. Now, thanks to our friends over at the wpap and lincolnparkftw on Twitter, we have scans of the other photo and the note, too. You can click the thumbnails below to see the images.
Please do consider buying a copy of the book for yourself if you can afford it. That way the money you spend on the book is used to save lives while you admire the pictures in it. Nothing is better than such win/win situation. You can order Rescue Tails: Portraits of Dogs and Their Celebrities from most of the major online bookstores. :)
Orbit Showtime, a pay TV service in Middle East and North Africa has had an interview with Marg earlier this year. In the interview, Marg talked about staying grounded, maintaining a young look and mostly, CSI. When asked if she ever finds time to relax, she said, and we quote, “I can never really relax! I can’t let the ball drop for very long, because otherwise it all passes you by. And I enjoy life too much for that.” That’s our girl!
Here’s a sneak peek of the interview:
Again, thanks to JFO for the heads-up. ♥
Marg and Jorja attended a private briefing hosted by the Artists & Athletes Alliance in Los Angeles on October 28th. The subject of the briefing was The Major Issues Facing The Obama Administration. There are a couple of photos of Marg. You can see them by clicking the thumbnails below (courtesy of AAA). A lot of celebrities showed up at the event. You can go to the AAA gallery and see if your favorite stars were there. :)
Thanks to JFO for the news. Photographer Brian Nice has published a book titled Rescue Tails: Portraits of Dogs and Their Celebrities as a Humane Society project. Marg, Billy, Jorja and Eric are all in the book with their dogs. Click the thumbnail on the right to see one of the two photos of Marg and her beloved Momo who passed away a few years ago. Marg says in her note, “Momo my special boy. Momo was the most sensitive, noble creature I’ve ever known. Whenever I was blue, he comforted me.” Thanks a lot to Sharron for the quote!
After the jump is a description of the book.
We have said this many times, but we can never say it enough. So again, thank you to the fans who helped us complete this year’s Birthday Project. Regardless of the total amount raised (which will be calculated in the next few days and announced once confirmed), the project is a big success. I think this is the first time I have seen so many Marg fans get involved in something together, for a great cause. Running this project had our eyes wide open. Some of the stories you shared in the birthday messages were so touching that our eyes got wet reading them. As stated at the beginning, we can’t promise you that Marg will read the messages, but we will do everything we can to pass the URL of our fan book to her. As for the funds, we will have the card sent to Marg’s contact address, and a scan of the certificate will be posted as soon as we receive it. ♥
A lot of you probably can’t wait to know who won the prizes. And so here you go…
We hope everyone that celebrates Thanksgiving had a great day. We’d also like to thank you for being with MaMa through the years with your constant support and site content contributions. We will keep working on bringing you everything Marg and making MaMa a better place for the fans to visit. ♥
There was no new CSI episode this week, so we are posting some other goodies, including videos and images, for your Marg fix. :)
